Ephesus from Celestyal: Discovery and Journey in Kusadasi
Celestyal is the Aegean cruise line and the one that calls at Kusadasi most often: 101 calls in 2027, from March to November. But its two ships could not be more different. The Celestyal Discovery arrives at 07:00 and sails at 13:00, and in March and November at 12:00: a short call that has to be planned to the minute. The Celestyal Journey stays from 08:00 to 18:00 and allows the full day.
Our meeting point is inside the port, at the Ada Pier Lounge in the Cruise Plaza, two minutes from the gangway. On a six-hour call those two minutes matter.

Which tour fits your schedule
Celestyal Discovery, 07:00 to 13:00. Six hours in port are five hours and fifteen minutes of usable time. The group tour to Ephesus and the Temple of Artemis fits in its express format, at a slightly brisker pace, and so does the private essential tour, which with no shopping stops covers Ephesus and the Experience Museum in under four hours. The House of the Virgin Mary does not fit that day.
Celestyal Discovery in March and November, 07:00 to 12:00. Five hours. No group tour makes it back in time; we offer the Private Ephesus Express, three hours with your own vehicle and guide and about 100 minutes inside the ancient city.
Celestyal Journey, 08:00 to 18:00. Ten hours. Any of our tours fits, including the full day with the House of the Virgin Mary, which the group visits in the afternoon. If you travel as a family or with friends, a private tour for up to 15 people lets you add Şirince or the Basilica of St John.

Frequently asked questions
The Discovery is only in Kusadasi for six hours. Is it worth getting off?
Yes, if the day is planned properly. Six hours fit the group tour to Ephesus and the Temple of Artemis in its express format, and also the private essential tour, which with no shopping stops covers Ephesus and the Experience Museum in under four hours. Either way you are back at the port by 12:00.
In March and November the Discovery sails at 12:00. Is there any option?
One: the Private Ephesus Express. Three hours with your own vehicle and guide, about 100 minutes inside the ancient city and back at the port by 11:00. No group tour makes it back in time on a five-hour call, and we would rather say so before you book.
With the Celestyal Journey, does the House of the Virgin Mary fit?
Yes. Ten hours in port allow the full day: Ephesus in the morning and the House of the Virgin Mary in the afternoon, once the site empties. Any private tour fits as well.
